A pre-colonial Tupi-Guarani burial urn, has been discovered during excavations on Avenida Sete de Setembro, a major road in the city of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The oval shaped clay vessel measures 80 cent. long by 60 cent. wide, and contains the skeletal remains of a man, probably a Tupi-Guarani Indian, who may have lived in Salvador between the 14th and 16th centuries.
